Weird creatures

posted Friday, 31 December 2004
Mum and I went into town this morning to do some last minute shopping for our New Year dinner this evening and to have another look at the sales. Town was still fairly busy although thankfully not as bad as the last time we went in. There isn't so much going on this year in the way of official celebrations. There are some fireworks and I think that's about all. But as we were walking through town we saw some street entertainment being prepared and then parading round. Some fantastic looking figures with people on stilts with music playing that was supposed to be coming out of the instruments that were making up their heads. It was great fun to see. It looked like there might have been other things being prepared too. It's a pity the weather is so dull and damp for it all.

We are having a quiet evening in which is what we normally do. A late dinner then some champagne and fireworks. It doesn't look like snow will stop us this time. Whatever everyone else is doing I hope you have a great time.
