Visiting The Baltic

posted Monday, 4 August 2008

We had a slight change of plans this morning.  We had planned a fairly full day out but unfortunately Dad wasn't feeling too well so Mum and I just took ourselves into town and then got the bus down to the Quayside, mainly to have a look in The Baltic to see what was on at the minute and then have a bit of a walk.  The look around the galleries didn't last too long as yet again we were very unimpressed with what was on offer.  Modern art, I'm afraid is not to my taste at all.  We spent more of our time in the observation gallery looking at the view and then out on the balcony they had where there was what looked like more art on offer across the river from where we were.  We stopped for a cup of tea and very nice piece of sly cake and watched as the bridge was raised which always attracts people.  Then a short walk along the river and we decided to head back into town.  Not as busy a day as we'd planned but enjoyable even so.

Some more pictures of our visit are here.
