The X-Files

posted Thursday, 7 August 2008

Horrible, warm and muggy day today so it was as well we'd decided on the cinema for the afternoon.  It would be much better spent in an air conditioned cinema than outside.  So it was into town for some lunch at a nice pub we know then to see The X-Files: I Want to Believe.  Things didn't get off to a good start when we sat in a semi-darkened cinema listening to music very poorly relayed over the speakers while no-one told us anything.  Turned out there was a problem as if we couldn't guess but eventually the film started.  It was worth the wait.  I'd read some pretty poor reviews but I usually don't take any notice of those.  I always figure once you've read a few reviews by a particular critic you can usually know what they are going to say about any film before you read it.  We enjoyed it, it was well written and pacy with a couple of make you jump moments.  All in all we found it enjoyable.
