Strange day

posted Wednesday, 26 May 2004
Well, I survived my first encounter with the weights. I must be learning sense when it comes to exercise. Over the years when I've tried out various different kinds of exercise the day after I start usually sees me so stiff I can hardly walk or move. I feel like I've been exercising but I'm still able to function so I must have done something right. I think I need to work out a proper regime with them but apart from that they look like they might just help me get in shape.

It's been a strange day today partly I think because work is at one of those odd stages at the moment. The exams are in full swing and there are a lot of books coming back so there is plenty of shelving for us to do but working on the desk is very dull as there are very few people coming in. It's just that those who are coming in bring back lots and lots of books. So one hour will fly by then the next will drag and so it goes. Still, a short week for me this week as I'm taking Friday off to make a nice long weekend with the Bank Holiday. The weather is strange too, dull and overcast one minute then brilliant blue skies and lots of sun. The only thing we don't seem to have had for quite awhile is rain. Or perhaps I shouldn't say that!

Don't you speak out the word 'r..n' again. I blame you when it starts raining LOL

Hope you are going to have a lovely long weekend.

I started using weights about one year ago. I began with my husband's (20-pound barbells) and thought I was going to kill myself. I finally bought some eight-pounders and I do more repetitions as time goes by. I also add different routines as I get stronger.

Because of a problem I have with my hip, I seem to devote more to upper body and waist. After one year, I can now win my husband when I pick on him to arm-wrestle!
