Routine

posted Sunday, 5 December 2004
Typical kind of Sunday today. Like workdays they seem often to fall into a familiar routine but it's a nice relaxed kind of routine. Spent the morning visiting a few blogs and reading the Sunday papers, a leisurely lunch then some baking this afternoon. Made a custard tart today. Nice to eat but it always seems to take a long time to make what with having to blind bake the case then wait for the oven to cool down and make the custard filling before putting it all back into the oven again. Hopefully it will be worth it! Long time or not I always find baking relaxing. A very laid back day all in all!

My Sunday was wild and busy. I keep looking at the deadline for donating homemade Christmas cookies to my church and wondering if I'm ever going to get around to baking them.

Tine, it's good to relax and recharge the batteries.
Pimme, hope you get your baking done!
Sally, it isn't difficult just a bit time consuming. It's just a case of baking the pastry case and then with our old oven you have to wait awhile for it to cool down before you can make the tart. The custard part is just a couple of eggs mixed with 1/2 pint of heated milk and a couple of spoonfuls of sugar. Put it in the pastry case and bake.
Thanks, Carol. All updated!
