Simple pleasures

posted Saturday, 9 April 2005
A hot bowl of soup after
a cold walk through
freezing wind and snow

an afternoon with
a fiendish su doku
when you manage to complete it

an evening with a tough crossword
not so successful but I still enjoy it

a lovely sunny morning
and no snow.

The very best things are usually so simple. A warm fire burning on a cold winter's day. Or a cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day, cool breeze blowing.

I hope our wintery weather is over for good now. It's been near 80 today and will be again tomorrow with sunshine. Set out flowers in the flower boxes on the porch, maybe it won't storm and hail and beat them up.
