When is not a good time to find out that a part of one of the ribs of your umbrella has snapped?  When it suddenly starts to pour with rain as it did this afternoon.  I was making my way into town after work to go and buy myself a new suitcase.  It was drizzling which was making a liar out of me as I had confidently told someone at work that the rest of today was going to be lovely although rain was coming tomorrow.  I put up the umbrella, I put down the umbrella when the drizzle stopped.  It started again so I put up the umbrella or at least tried.  Something very odd was going on with it as one part was all folded up underneath.  So down it went and then down came the rain, no drizzle but a downpour.  Up went the umbrella and fortunately I discovered what the problem was, which makes it awkward to use but still possible.  It's hardly surprising something has gone on it.  It has had a tremedous amount of use lately!  At least after all that I got my suitcase in the sales, half price which I was pleased about although they had run out of matching bags which was annoying.  My one and probably only purchase in the sales which were supposed to be wonderful this year because of all the problems everyone is having but no sign of wonderful in these parts as yet!  All the prices are going up instead of down!

So are you planning a trip, thus the suitcase? Might want to think about a new umbrella!! I LOVE those collapsible Totes umbrellas that fit in my purse.

We are taking a trip up to Scotland to stay with family this year again, Mary Lou. Thankfully the umbrella still works well enough which is as well with the rain we had again today!
