Hexham

It was decided that if the weather was good enough, today we would take a trip to Hexham.  Well, the sky was blue and the sun was shining so a leisurely breakfast and a short train journey later we were walking through the town on our way first of all to the Abbey.  After a visit there we walked the short way to the Old Gaol now an museum and had a good look around that.  A short stroll, some lunch and we were ready for the train back.  The great weather didn't last the whole time we were there but at least the rain held off until we got back home again!
