Guy Fawkes

posted Sunday, 5 November 2006

There are still a few fireworks going off now although most of them have finished.  Earlier on it was almost deafening at points and the sky was constantly lit up by showers of sparks of all different colours.  I even tried to take a short film of the fireworks with my camera but how successful that was I'm not sure.  We had our fireworks and sparklers in the back garden then retired into the house to warm up with a jacket potato filled with cheese, a nice hot cup of tea and a chocolate brownie.  The display everywhere has been terrific although I must admit some of the larger fireworks were a bit too loud for me!  One or two of them had us ducking when they went off!  There were plenty of bonfires this year too so everywhere had that lovely smokey smell.

Now we are settling in to watch the first episode of the second part of Planet Earth on the BBC.  The first part was wonderful, we're expecting as much from this one.  Then to end to evening the next episode of Torchwood, all backed by the occasional crack and bang no doubt!
