Gingerbread men and mince pies

posted Saturday, 18 December 2004
Mum and I did some baking this afternoon. We always do a big bake for Christmas. They are the kind of things you can easily buy but like the Christmas cake we always like to do our own. This afternoon we made some gingerbread men and mince pies. We didn't quite get done all we wanted but after the second batch of pastry we both got a bit too tired to go on. We'll finish the mince pies next week. I don't generally like hot foods but gingerbread I really like and we do put a lot of ginger in. The whole house smelt of it by the time we'd finished. Taste good, smell good and they are good for the digestion. Perfect for any overeating we may be doing in the days to come!
