It's a day spent in front of the television today.  A giveaway in The Times this morning provided our afternoon's entertainment in the shape of a DVD of The Lady Vanishes by one of my favourite directors, Alfred Hitchcock.  Then this evening we'll be watching The Last Night of the Proms.  And - so far - no rain has fallen!
