Expensive

posted Thursday, 17 July 2008

One of the things I love about this time of year is all the lovely homegrown soft fruit there is to eat such as strawberries and cherries.  We've just eaten our fill of the latter this evening.  And they do like to lecture and lecture us about eating more fruit.  But that's not so easy with the prices.  Cherries are very nice but how they can possibly justify £7 per lb as the ones we've just had were or would have been if Marks hadn't been doing one of their half price offers.  Healthy it may all be but not for the purse!  At least the fruit will make up for the lack of sun as yes it has rained again today.  And now I am looking out at clouds that are a very interesting mixture.  I didn't realise there were quite so many shades of grey as that!
