Afternoon tea

posted Thursday, 30 August 2007

Sometimes it seems as if a large part of holidays is eating.  Today was a contrast of meals each of them in their way nice.  This morning we decided to have a walk down by the coast.  The weather wasn't terrific first thing but it got out and by the time we got to the coast it was very nice.  In fact, especially without any sunblock, which we didn't think it worthwhile to buy this year, it got a little too nice and I was worried I might get sunburnt.  But then the clouds came over and for once it was quite a relief to see them.  After some chips and then a walk we had some ice cream.  At least I started to have an ice cream before an unfortunate accident with a rather fragile cornet left most of mine on the ground.  At least I got to eat the flake first!  Then we headed back into town and after a little shopping treated ourselves to afternoon tea at a restaurant in store we came across almost by accident.  They really should advertise it as it was lovely.  A very impressive selection of sandwiches, wonderful scones and jam and cream and some very tasty pastries.  After that we made our very slow way home!  Dieting may be boring but I think after this holiday it is going to be needed very much!

Some more pictures of our day at the coast are here.
