Grumbles

Thursday, 4 February 2010 8:51 P GMT

I'm in a complaining mood today.  I had hardly any sleep last night and I have tennis elbow.  I will be glad when the weekend is here!  The tennis elbow at least is not quite as bad as it was but it still hurts quite a bit.  Shelving has not been fun the last couple of days!  I need chocolate!

More snow

Saturday, 30 January 2010 11:29 P GMT

I had lunch out with my friend as usual today.  But apart from that it's been a stay inside weekend.  I was quite happy to be nice and snug inside.  During the night we had more snow, not as much as last time but enough to be a nuisance and it is very cold there was plenty of sunshine though so that was quite nice to see.  I watched some television, had a nice drink and did some of my jigsaw.  After a busy week at work it was very relaxing!

Quiet

Sunday, 24 January 2010 5:18 P GMT
Another weekend has gone rushing by.  It was a fairly quiet one.  We had a nice dinner last night for Dad's birthday.  Apart from that I have done very little with no lunch out this weekend.  It hasn't been the kind of weather for going out unless you have to in any case as it's been damp and grey.   At least all the snow had finally gone!

Birthday

Monday, 18 January 2010 4:55 P GMT
It's Dad's birthday today.  He's 80 which I find quite hard to believe!  We did presents this morning then this afternoon it was cake and champagne.  We'll have a nice dinner later on.

Thawing

Saturday, 16 January 2010 10:53 P GMT
It's been a very long week and it was very nice to have a lie in this morning.  And finally the snow has gone!  It started to thaw yesterday and today it has poured with rain which has helped get rid of it all.  Today I was out for lunch with my friend and had my usual chips - the diet hasn't started yet so I enjoyed the mayonnaise that came with them.  A bit more chocolate to eat then it will be time for the diet again!

Warmer

Sunday, 10 January 2010 9:04 P GMT
I only had a short week at work last week, only two days but it still seemed quite long.  Making my way through all the snow each day was very tiring apart from how busy it was at work.  And now the weekend has gone by very quickly.  Today though has been much warmer and the snow has finally started to thaw.  It was amazing to wake up this morning and see it melting after it had been there for so long.  It was a very quiet weekend, the snow yesterday meant no lunch out so it was spent mainly reading and eating chocolate.  The diet is not starting for awhile.

Cold

Monday, 4 January 2010 4:08 P GMT

We had a very nice New Year's Eve here.  We weren't able to get out and set off our fireworks as it was very cold and there was a lot of snow around but we had a nice meal and champagne at midnight so we were quite happy with that.

And today I went outside for the first time this year but not for very long.  I have never known there to be so much snow around as we have had lately.  We just got rid of the last icy remains of the previous snow just before the New Year and then the next lot came along.  It must be a few inches deep which isn't much compared to some places, I know but for us is a lot.  And we have more coming.  I am still on holiday and it is quite nice to be able to curl up with a book and some chocolate or spend some time on a jigsaw and eat some chocolate or watch television and eat chocolate.  We still have quite a bit of chocolate left to eat!
