Tired

Thursday, 2 July 2009 10:00 P GMT

This weather is a bit too much for me.  It seems to be getting hotter which is no good!  I can't stand the kind of temperatures we have been having lately.  Of course for some places they are probably normal or even a little less than normal but once it starts to get near 80F it's far too hot for me.  The sunshine however is nice after all the greyness there was!

Hot

It was payday today so it was into town after work to get some money out of the bank.  It wasn't the kind of day for much walking however as it has been very hot and very close.  I did what I had to do and then it was home for more tennis.  The weather there has been terrific again, even hotter and with more sun.  Some of that would be nice here instead of the horrible heavy cloud that we have!

Lazy

A very slow day today.  I read the newspapers, watched some television and sat outside for awhile this evening when the sun finally came out - although it didn't stay out for long.  That was about it!

Dull

A nice, quiet day today at work for the end of the week.  It has been a very heavy week this week, as the bruises I have can show!  The weather however hasn't been quite so nice.  After a few days of wonderful weather today has been dreary with lots of rain, cloud and mist.  Then it was home to watch some tennis especially Roger Federer who played great as usual. Luckily the forecast was wrong as there was supposed to be lots of rain.  Instead it was lovely sunshine all the time.

Sunny

It may be quiet at work at the minute as there are very few people coming in but we are still being kept busy.  There are lots of jobs to do, most of them quite heavy work as the bruises I have show!  This week I have moved books and rearranged pigeonholes which might not sound like such a big thing except when one of the big metal shelves came loose yesterday and landed on my arm!  Luckily it was empty but I have the bruise and very tender area on my wrist to show for it.  Today was slightly less fraught but I was still glad to leave and meet my friend for some lunch, we are now meeting during the week as term is over.

Then after lunch I hurried home to watch tennis.  It was very good and Roger Federer played a great match.  And there has been no rain yet!

Heavy

It may be a lot quieter at work but there is still a lot to be done.  By the time I left this afternoon I had an aching back and legs, a bit pile of books by the book bin to pick up again this morning and then lots of books to move.  Anyway, after work I hurried home and got down to watching some tennis.  And very good it was too with lovely weather, much better than we had here.  It's been a very heavy day.  And it rained again!

Wimbledon

Saturday, 20 June 2009 7:19 P GMT
Everyone who knows me knows what the next two weeks mean.  Tennis and specifically Wimbledon.  I shall be dashing home every day and glued to the television until the last ball is struck.  The BBC always is excellent and the digital coverage is wonderful.  So I won't have any time for much else apart from the occasional bowl of strawberries of course!
